Bluestar ferries, they are not all identical thus vary a bit but basically: There are only 3 categories of ticket: Economy - Find an empty non booked seat seat inside or on deck. Air seat - prebooked seat which is 'yours', these are on the inside. Business Class(1st class) - Exactly that, a seat in the inside 1st class lounge. Deck and air seats. Economy seats consist of the deck, salon, and air seats. These are the recommended choices for destinations closer to the Greek mainland, like the Saronic islands or the Cyclades. Travel time to these islands is short, usually between 3-6 hours, which is why a deck or salon ticket is normally convenient for passengers. I am checking online with Blue Star Ferries and noticed all the different seat types and pricing. Can someone please explain the differences to me? Also, which is the most comfortable seating for an 8 hour venture? These are the seats listed on the website: ECONOMY 33.50 . BUSINESS CLASS (SEAT) 47.00 . AIR SEATS LOUNGE-1 37.50 . AIR SEATS

1. Re: Business or economy class - Golden Star Superferry. Kelly S, you won't get a business class seat on an airline for only €10 more than economy, so there is really no comparison with ferries. If that were so I would always fly business class. For the trip from Santorini you may want to stay on the open deck most of the time, so economy Mikets makes a good point — Flying Cat 3 from Mykonos to Naxos would, indeed, be a better choice than SeaJet 2. It's more reliable, goes one stop closer to Santorini, and gives you enough layover time to do a little exploring in Naxos Town before boarding Blue Star. The only danger is, once you've seen Naxos you may not want to leave. ;o) 22 2. Re: Help with seating types on Bluestar Ferries. 17 years ago. Save. We just did three separate trips on Blue Star ferries (Pireaus - Mykonos, Naxos - Santorini, and Santorini - Pireaus). We had economy tickets and were not allowed to sit in the airline seating. We could basically sit anywhere at the back of the ferry, either inside or outside. 7. Re: Business class blue star ferry Paros. Like Travelerjan said, it depends WHEN you plan to travel. In August - i.e. peak season - we usually book business class on the Blue Star Ferries since it kind of guarantees us a slightly calmer, quieter trip vs being in free seat economy. MS Blue Star Paros ferry is a Ro-Ro passenger vessel operated by the Greece-based company BLUE STAR FERRIES. The ship has a max capacity of 1474 passengers and 240 cars. The vessel was launched in 2002 and currently operates on the Greece-Cyclades Islands ferry route Piraeus - Syros - Tinos - Mykonos (crossing time 6 hours).
