Looking for reasonably priced 95+ CRI / High R9 LED lights. I either need 6" can light retrofits, or BR30s that fit in can lights, and some regular A19s as well. From some limited research, it seems like as soon as you want 95+ CRI and actually even know what R9 is, the recommendations are Waveform Lighting Soraa
In general, 90 CRI or higher is recommended for LED strips used in retail, hospitality and high-end architectural lighting. For professional applications such as photography, 95 CRI or higher may be desired. This is particularly true due to the higher CCT used for these applications, where the light source must come close to mimicking natural

These are the three most relevant measures of a high or low quality light. They're all discussed on our Project and Product Criteria page because they're vital to evaluate when selecting LEDs. CRI stands for color rendering index (CRI), CCT stands for correlated color temperature (known simply as color temperature for many lights).
An Ikea bulb (90-92 CRI) appears to have slightly better color rendering, in comparison. Skin tones appear fair, somewhere in between regular and high CRI LED, just a tad orangish, not unlike how skin tones appear under the Feit "high CRI" LED downlight par bulbs, probably adequate for residential lighting purposes.
Color Rendering Index Chart. Color Rendering Index (CRI) is a scale from 0 to 100 percent that measures how accurate a “given” light source makes the color of an object appear to human eyes and whether colors are distorted in any way when illuminated by that light source. The higher the CRI, the better the color rendering ability of the
Depending on who you are speaking to, CRI can take on a very different meaning. Our recommendation is to be explicit when discussing these metrics with manufacturers and customers. When discussing general CRI, it is best to use the term "CRI (Ra)" or general CRI (R1-R8). When discussing extended CRI, use the term "CRI (e)", "Re" or extended CRI
CRI, therefore, allows you to determine how faithfully colors are represented under your light source. It’s an incredibly important metric in determining light quality. CRI averages 8 colors (which have a low to medium chromatic saturation) to obtain a ranking between 0 and 100. Image: Color Rendering Index color palette
Lumens equal brightness; watts measure energy used. LEDs use much fewer watts than incandescents with the same brightness. As a rule, you’ll replace a standard 75W bulb with an energy-saving bulb of about 1100 lumens. On the low end, replace a 40W bulb with an LED bulb of about 450 lumens.
2000K-3000K: gives off a soft white glow, often yellow in appearance; best for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and outdoor spaces . 3100K-4500K: gives off a bright amount of white light; best for kitchens, offices, work spaces and vanities where task lighting is needed. 4600K-6500K: gives off a bright amount of blue-white light, similar to
The effect of a light source on color appearance is measured in the color rendering index (CRI), on a scale of 0-100. Natural outdoor light has a CRI of 100 and is used as the standard of comparison for any other light source. The CRI of Philips LED lighting products is always higher than 80, close to natural light.

The Color Rendering Index (CRI) measures how accurately a light source renders color compared to natural daylight on a scale from 0-100. A higher CRI rating indicates that an LED fixture renders colors more accurately than one with a lower rating does. Generally speaking, LEDs with ratings between 80-90 are considered good quality; however
