In addition, when using the ISP mobile connection, you get an IP address that changes every time you connect and reconnect. Consequently, it’s not possible to have the same IP address every time you use the Internet. Unlike home internet connection, when you have a static IP for everything as devices.
Calling Over the Internet. VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol, is a technology that allows you to make calls over the internet instead of traditional phone lines or cellular connections. Although its name suggests that it only enables voice calls, modern VoIP services are far more capable and can offer video calls, file transfer, group calls
When you connect over 3G, the IP address comes from your phone company. When you connect over WiFi, you get an IP address from the WiFi access points. The IP addresses can be "dynamic", i.e. it may change over time. Also, each WiFi access point can only give you an IP address that it owns, and most such access points use NAT.
The devices and comptuers connected to the Internet use a protocol called TCP/IP to communicate with each other. When a computer in New York wants to send a piece of data to a computer in England
When a person connects to a wireless hotspot, two IP addresses are set i.e. a Private IP address and a Public IP address. The wireless hotspot automatically allots the requesting device a Private IP address from a range of available IP addresses which is unique to that device. The device then connects to the internet via a Public IP address.
To find your phone’s IP address, go to Settings > About device > Status. Your phone or tablet’s IP address will be displayed with other information, such as the IMEI or Wi-Fi MAC addresses: Mobile operators and ISPs also provide a so-called public IP address.
Turn a private address off for a network. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, then tap for a network. Turn Private Address off. Important: For better privacy, leave Private Address turned on for all networks that support it. Using a private address helps reduce tracking of your iPhone across different Wi-Fi networks. An Internet Protocol Address (IP address) refers to a unique address or numerical label designated for each device connected in a computer network using the Internet Protocol (IP) for communication. Example of an IP address: 192.16.2.1. Simply put, IP addresses identify a device on a local network or the internet and allow data to be
Typically, mobile phones do not have a fixed IP address. Instead, they are assigned a temporary IP address each time they connect to a network (e.g., a cellular network or Wi-Fi network). This IP address is typically dynamic, which means that it can change over time, often every time the device connects to a network.
Most commercial plans (some corporate plans pay extra for a static one) are for a dynamic forward facing ip address, which means it can change whenever the isp pleases after your router has been rebooted or the lease has expired, but often it doesnt change very often at all just because it is harder nowadays with an increasingly limited ipv4
To assign an IP address of your choice to your iPhone, first, launch the Settings app on your phone. In Settings, tap the “Wi-Fi” option. On the “Wi-Fi” screen, next to your wireless network, tap the “i” icon. Select “Configure IP” to change your iPhone’s IP mode from automatic to manual. Choose the “Manual” option.
Thanks, I do have some 120 IP reservations in my DHCP server. I only have guest devices getting dynamic IPs (end even then, return guest are often given reservations, since I use ping as a presence detection for home automation, e.g. if my moms phone is on the network, the house is in "Guest Mode" and won't power down when my girlfriend and I are both away from home).

A subnet mask neither works as an IP address nor does it exist independently of IP addresses. Instead, subnet masks accompany an IP address, and the two values work together. Applying the subnet mask to an IP address splits the address into two parts, an extended network address and a host address.
Use Mobile Data. Reconnecting from a Wi-Fi hotspot to mobile data will help change your IP address. You should be aware, though, that they will be the same each time. Change Network Connections. Automatic IP rotation occurs when you connect to a shared Wi-Fi network. It changes your IP address, but your data is vulnerable.
